The Catechism teaches us not to fear death. Death is merely the separation of the soul from the body. Jesus Christ, as well as revelation from God, the Sacred Scriptures, and the Sacred Tradition of the Church, agree on what happens next. For most of us, following the Particular Judgement, there is Purgatory, a state of being in which we are cleansed before entering heaven. Once in heaven, we are all saints!
