Defending the Faith
Bible Christianity
How did Bible Christianity get started and what’s it about?
Bible Christianity is rooted in the idea that the Christian religion, Christian beliefs, and practices–along with the life of the Christian–is based on the bible alone.
This means that the underlying doctrine of Bible Christianity—at least from a Protestant perspective—is sola scriptura, which is a Latin term meaning “scripture alone.” It’s often expressed with the phrase, “Bible as the sole rule of faith.”
Where did the Bible come from? How did we get it? How does sola scriptura tie into Bible Christianity? What does sola scriptura mean, how is it practiced, and where does it lead? These are some of the questions we’re going to explore in this series of lessons on Bible Christianity.
Objective: In this course, students will learn all about Bible Christianity and why it's important. Students will learn about the Magisterium, sola scriptura and God's great plan.
