Objective: Students will learn about the great gift of the Mass and how Jesus offers Himself for us in the Holy Eucharist.
They will understand:

• That Jesus is the Son of God who became man to offer the perfect sacrifice for our salvation.

• That the sacrifices of the Old Testament prepared God’s people to understand the one true sacrifice Jesus would offer on the Cross.

• That Jesus is both the perfect priest and the perfect sacrifice, giving Himself freely out of love for all people.

• That at every Mass, Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross is made present to us in a real and holy way.

• That the Eucharist is the true Body and Blood of Christ, and that Jesus is fully present with us under the appearance of bread and wine.

• That the Mass has two main parts, the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist, through which God teaches us and feeds us spiritually.

• That receiving Holy Communion unites us closely with Jesus and strengthens us to live as His followers.

• That by participating in the Mass with reverence, prayer, and love, we grow closer to Jesus and offer the perfect sacrifice to God with Him.
