Objective: Students will learn about Jesus as the Living Bread and the great gift of the Holy Eucharist.

They will understand:

  • That God fed the Israelites with manna in the desert to teach them to trust in His daily care.
  • That Jesus revealed Himself as the Living Bread who came down from Heaven to give eternal life.
  • That at the Last Supper, Jesus gave us the Holy Eucharist and began the priesthood so His sacrifice would remain with us.
  • That at Mass, the bread and wine truly become the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ.
  • That Holy Communion unites us closely with Jesus and fills our souls with sanctifying grace.
  • That we are called to receive the Eucharist often, especially on Sundays, so our souls remain spiritually nourished.
  • That we must prepare our hearts to receive Jesus worthily through faith, prayer, and Confession when needed.
  • That by faithfully participating in Mass and receiving the Living Bread, we grow stronger in faith and closer to eternal life with God.
