Objective: Students will learn about God’s faithfulness, providence, and plan to save His people through the story of the Israelites’ suffering in Egypt and the calling of Moses. They will understand:

• That after many generations, a new Pharaoh enslaved the Israelites and gave a cruel command to kill Hebrew baby boys.
• That God protected baby Moses, who was placed in a basket on the Nile and raised in Pharaoh’s household.
• That Moses fled to Midian after killing an Egyptian, where he lived as a shepherd and learned patience and humility.
• That God appeared to Moses in the burning bush, revealed His holy name Yahweh, and called him to be a prophet.
• That God chose Aaron to help Moses speak and gave him signs to show His power.
• That God never forgot His covenant with His people and was preparing to deliver them from slavery.
• That Moses’ story shows us God can use even weakness and fear to accomplish His great plan.
