Objective: Students will learn about what happens when we die and God’s loving plan for our eternal life.

They will understand:

• That at the moment of death, every soul faces Particular Judgement before Jesus Christ.
• That Jesus judges each person with perfect justice and perfect mercy, looking at how we loved God and others.
• That after Particular Judgement, a soul may go to Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell.
• That Purgatory is a place of purification for souls who die in God’s friendship but are not yet perfectly ready for Heaven.
• That every soul in Purgatory will one day enter Heaven, and that we can help them through prayer, sacrifice, and the Holy Mass.
• That Heaven is perfect union with God, where we see Him face to face and live in complete happiness forever.
• That at the end of time, there will be a General Judgement and the Resurrection of the Body, when all souls will be reunited with their bodies.
• That our bodies will be glorified, and there will be no sickness, pain, or death for those who live in friendship with God.
• That because Jesus is our Judge and desires our salvation, we must live holy lives, seek forgiveness for our sins, and trust in God’s mercy every day.
