Objective: Students will learn about God’s mercy and forgiveness, and how Jesus calls us to turn away from sin and follow Him. They will understand:

• That Jesus is truly God and knows everything about us, including our thoughts, words, and actions.
• That sin is choosing to do wrong, and because of Original Sin, we are tempted to sin.
• That Jesus came into the world to save us from sin through His life, death, and Resurrection.
• That Jesus forgives all sins when we are truly sorry and repent.
• That repentance means turning away from sin and returning to God.
• That we receive forgiveness in a special way through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
• That Jesus showed His power by healing the sick, casting out demons, and forgiving sins.
• That Jesus saves not only our bodies but also our souls.
• That an encounter with Jesus is a real experience that changes our hearts.
• That grace is God’s gift that helps us become holy and follow Him.
• That those who encounter Jesus are transformed and called to live new lives.
• That conversion means turning away from sin and choosing to follow God completely.
• That no one is beyond God’s mercy and forgiveness.
• That Jesus forgave others, even from the Cross, and calls us to do the same.
• That we must forgive others, even when it is difficult or when they do not ask for forgiveness.
• That forgiveness helps us remain close to God and free from anger and sin.
• That by forgiving others, we become more like Jesus.
