Objective: Students will learn about how Jesus remained faithful to His mission even when many people rejected Him. They will understand:

• That Jesus welcomed sinners, the poor, and those whom others rejected.
• That Jesus came to call sinners to repentance and salvation, not to approve of sin.
• That every person is a sinner in need of God's mercy.
• That salvation is a free gift from God and cannot be earned through pride or self-righteousness.
• That Jesus calls His followers to love every person with kindness, mercy, and compassion.
• That Jesus taught the truth about the Holy Eucharist, even though many people found His teaching difficult to accept.
• That the bread and wine truly become the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ during the consecration at Mass.
• That Jesus is truly present in the Holy Eucharist and desires to unite Himself with us in Holy Communion.
• That Catholics should receive Holy Communion worthily and seek the Sacrament of Reconciliation after committing mortal sin.
• That God blesses those who are humble and willing to listen to His truth.
• That pride can keep people from accepting Jesus and following Him faithfully.
• That every person has the freedom to choose whether to follow Jesus or reject Him.
• That sin damages our relationship with God and turns us away from His will.
• That the Church teaches there are two kinds of sin: mortal sin and venial sin.
• That God's mercy is greater than every sin and that Jesus forgives us through the Sacrament of Reconciliation when we are truly repentant.
• That we are called to follow Jesus with humble hearts, remain faithful to His teachings, and share His love and mercy with others.
