Objective: Students will learn about the angels and their role in God's plan of salvation. They will understand:

• That God created the angels before He created the world.
• That angels are real beings created by God and are pure spirits.
• That angels do not have physical bodies but possess great intelligence and free will.
• That all angels were created good to know, love, and serve God.
• That some angels freely chose to reject God and became fallen angels, or demons.
• That Lucifer, through pride, became Satan, the leader of the fallen angels.
• That Satan and the demons can tempt people to sin but cannot force anyone to sin.
• That Jesus Christ has conquered sin, Satan, and death through His saving work.
• That God is always more powerful than every evil spirit.
• That the word "angel" means "messenger" and that angels carry out God's will.
• That the Bible tells us about angels bringing God's messages, protecting His people, and praising Him in Heaven.
• That the Archangel Gabriel announced God's plan of salvation to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
• That God gives every person a guardian angel to protect, guide, and help them on their journey to Heaven.
• That guardian angels respect our free will and encourage us to choose what is good.
• That angels are part of the Communion of Saints and worship God forever in Heaven.
• That God calls us to cooperate with His grace so that one day we may join the angels in the joy of Heaven.
