Objective: Students will learn about the Blessed Trinity and how God reveals Himself to us through faith and reason. They will understand:

  • That God created us out of love and desires a relationship with every person.
  • That God gave us minds to think and hearts to love so that we can come to know Him.
  • That faith and reason work together to help us know that God exists.
  • That creation points to God as its Creator and reveals His wisdom, power, and goodness.
  • That God is eternal, having no beginning and no end.
  • That God's attributes help us understand who He is and how He relates to His creation.
  • That God is All Holy, Almighty, All Knowing, Eternal, Omnipresent, All Loving, and All Merciful.
  • That there is only one God who exists as three Divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • That God the Father created us, God the Son became man to save us, and God the Holy Spirit guides us in holiness.
  • That the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not three gods, but one God, equal in power, glory, and holiness.
  • That the Blessed Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith.
  • That a mystery of faith is a truth revealed by God that cannot be fully understood by the human mind.
  • That we believe in the Trinity because God has revealed this truth to us.
  • That faith means trusting God's truth even when we cannot fully understand it.
  • That growing in faith helps us approach God with humility, trust, wonder, and love.
