Objective: Students will learn about how God prepared His people for the coming of the Savior through the faith and obedience of Elizabeth, Zechariah, Mary, and Joseph. They will understand:

• That Elizabeth and Zechariah were faithful servants who trusted God throughout their lives.
• That God fulfilled His promise by giving them a son, John the Baptist.
• That John the Baptist was chosen by God to prepare the way for Jesus.
• That John recognized Jesus even before he was born by leaping for joy in his mother's womb.
• That Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, recognized Mary as the Mother of the Savior.
• That Mary was conceived without Original Sin, a gift known as the Immaculate Conception.
• That Mary freely said "yes" to God's plan and became the Mother of God.
• That Jesus was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit.
• That Saint Joseph was chosen by God to be the foster father and protector of Jesus.
• That Joseph trusted God, obeyed the angel's message, and faithfully cared for Mary and Jesus.
• That Saint Joseph is a model of faith, obedience, humility, and fatherly love.
• That God faithfully fulfilled His promise to send the Savior through the Holy Family.
• That we are called to trust God's plan and respond with faith and obedience, like Mary and Joseph.
