Objective: Students will learn about faith as a gift from God and how God reveals Himself to us through Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, Jesus Christ, and Reason. They will understand:

• That God created us, loves us, and desires a relationship with every person.
• That God reveals Himself through Sacred Scripture, which is the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit.
• That Sacred Tradition is the teaching given by Jesus to the Apostles and faithfully passed down by the Church.
• That Jesus Christ is the fullest revelation of God because He is the Son of God made man.
• That God gave us reason so we can recognize His creation and understand truth and goodness.
• That some truths about God, like the Holy Trinity, are mysteries of faith that God helps us believe through grace.
• That faith is a supernatural gift from God and cannot be earned or created by ourselves.
• That faith means trusting God even during times of fear, doubt, confusion, or suffering.
• That feelings may change, but God remains faithful and always stays close to us.
• That prayer, Sacred Scripture, the Sacraments, and the teachings of the Church help our faith grow stronger.
• That God invites every person to freely choose faith and trust in Him each day.
• That the Apostles’ Creed summarizes the essential truths of the Catholic faith.
• That praying the Creed unites Catholics throughout the world and throughout history in the same faith.
• That as we continue to learn about God, pray, and live our faith, our trust in God grows stronger and leads us closer to Him.
