The Lord's Day

Sunday is more than just the end of the week or a day away from school. It is the Lord’s Day—a special day set apart for worship, rest, and joyful celebration of Jesus Christ’s Resurrection. The Third Commandment teaches us to keep this day holy and make time for God.

In this course, students will discover why Catholics celebrate the Lord’s Day on Sunday, why participating in Mass is at the heart of Sunday worship, and what it means to make Sunday a true day of rest. They will also learn how prayer, family time, charity, and healthy recreation can help make Sunday a day centered on God and filled with Christian joy.

In This Course You'll Learn

  • What the Third Commandment teaches us about keeping the Lord’s Day holy.

  • Why Christians celebrate the Lord’s Day on Sunday.
