Objective: Human trafficking is modern-day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act.

Every year, millions of men, women, and children are trafficked in countries around the world, including the United States. It is estimated that human trafficking generates many billions of dollars of profit per year, second only to drug trafficking as the most profitable form of transnational crime.

Human trafficking is a hidden crime as victims rarely come forward to seek help because of language barriers, fear of the traffickers, and/or fear of law enforcement.

This important two-part course will help you to understand what human trafficking is, and what you can do to help fight it.

Note: The safety of the public as well as the victim is paramount. Do not attempt to confront a suspected trafficker directly or alert a victim to any suspicions. It is up to law enforcement to investigate suspected cases of human trafficking.

“ Very informative, sorry to say that I was not aware of some of the indicators. I can guarantee you this from now on I most definitely will be aware of the indicators, I feel the test could have been longer and more information about other areas in the United States as I live in the U.S. A question I have though is on illegal immigration and low wages paid to migrants working in our agriculture could that be considered a form of human trafficking? And how much of this type of activity coincides with are border problems in the US?? I do get the fact that we need to help these these are individuals that are in need of better life. A lot of these individuals they come undocumented and and live under the threat of deportation. I feel guilt and the fact that citizens of the US such as myself in some way shape and form benefit from agriculture at the grocery store at, of the pricing of food. Heavenly Father hear my prayer help those in need of a better life let me not go unappreciated of their labor and hardship amen.”
