The month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The goal is not simply a devotion to the Sacred Heart, but to enter fully and completely into the Sacred Heart of Jesus - to step into the shelter of his infinite love and mercy. To enter into the heart of Jesus is to enter into the loving abode and warmth of God. Think about that for a moment. Think about resting safely in the heart of the Savior of the world!

When we reflect on the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we find his love for us is unveiled in magnificent splendor. There are many aspects of his divine love, many chambers within his heart, each leading deeper into the mystery of his Divine Person and the infinite well of love that flows forth from the Lord Jesus. And each of them is accessed by accepting his healing mercy.

Accept the mercy and love Jesus offers. Don’t hesitate. Don’t be afraid to let him draw you into his Sacred Heart. Know and trust that he will heal you. Transform you. Make you anew. Once you rest safely in his heart, you will never be the same again. 

Objective:  In this 7-lesson course, students will learn how to enter into the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Students will learn all about what the Sacred Heart of Jesus means to our faith and why it is so important to accept the love of our Lord.

Instructor Bio:

Deacon Frederick Bartels is a member of the Catholic clergy who serves the Church in the diocese of Pueblo, CO. He received an MA in Theology and Educational Ministry from Catholic Distance University, where he is currently employed as an adjunct professor of theology. He is founder and editor of Joy In Truth (joyintruth.com), an online magazine dedicated to the New Evangelization. As a Catholic educator, public speaker and evangelist, Deacon Bartels strives to infuse culture with the saving principles of the gospel. He lives in Colorado with his wife, Shelly, and the youngest two of their six children. Professor Bartels is Chairman of the Theology Department.
