Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:31-32).

The goal of every Christian is to walk in fellowship with the Lord Jesus, which means living a praiseworthy moral life in the Christ, among other things. For that reason, understanding the deadly nature of sin is essential.

To that end, our course “The Seven Deadly Sins” is much more than simply a helpful tool. In this course, you’ll learn about each of the sins the Catechism calls “capital,” what they are, whether they are particularly deadly to the soul, and what we can do to counter them.

Here’s a snapshot of what this course has to offer:

    What sin is

The distinctions between venial and mortal sin

The definition of each of the sins of pride, avarice, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth

Practical examples illustrating what each of the seven deadly sins entail

Other sins the capital sins tend to engender or lead into

Help in discerning whether a particular capital sin is venial or mortal

Advice on methods of avoiding temptation and countering the deadly sins

Given the nature of our fallen world, it’s not easy to walk in fellowship with Christ and live a virtuous life. “The Seven Deadly Sins” is an excellent aid to enhance your understanding of the capital sins and how to avoid them. You’ll find this course to be an essential resource that you can turn to again and again.
