Foreign Language

Latin I - Students will learn basic Latin with an emphasis on how the language is used in the Church. Students will  learn proper form, syntax, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Latin II - Students will learn to read Latin as well as speak the language through exercises. Included will be writings by Julius Caesar and writings about Jesus Christ. Pronunciation will be taught as well as grammar.

Latin III - Students will perform exercises to perfect their Latin. Students will study works from the Roman and early Christian era. In addition to reading Latin, students will continue to develop their verbal skills with new vocabulary.


Spanish I - Students will study Spanish with the aim of becoming competent speakers of this influential language. Students will study Spanish vocabulary and grammar. They will also explore writings in Spanish taken from the Catholic history of Spain.

Spanish II - Students will improve their spoken Spanish and continue to acquire new vocabulary. Emphasis will be placed on proper pronunciation. Additional readings from Spanish culture and Church history will also be explored.

Spanish III - In this course, students will learn to use Spanish daily. Students will continue their study of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. An emphasis will be placed on real-world and everyday conversation.
